Moravian Takes Third at Ursinus Bow Tie Invitational with Two Event Victories

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's track & field team placed third of ten teams at the Ursinus College Bow Tie Invitational Friday evening as the Greyhounds finished with 96 points, trailing the host Bears, who had 103 points, and Stockton University, which scored 98 points.

Event Winners

  • Sophomore Trey Rolle took first in the high jump with an All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying heights and personal best at Moravian of 2.00 meters (6-6.75) to score 10 points for Hounds. Rolle's mark is tied for fourth in the Greyhounds' record book
  • Sophomore Owen Nahf earned 10 points by winning the 5,000-meter run in an AARTFC qualifying and indoor PR time of 15:23.92

Top 8 Scoring Finishes

  • Rolle also finished as the runner-up in the long jump with an AARTFC qualifying mark and Moravian PR of 6.70 meters (21-11.75) to earn the first eight points of the meet for the Greyhounds
  • Sophomore Trevor Gray was second in the finals of the 60-meter dash with an AARTFC qualifying time of 7.12 seconds to score eight points after running 7.07 seconds in the preliminaries while freshman Jacob Fenstermaker picked up five points with a fourth-place finish in a PR time of 7.18 seconds. Junior Jared Santos took sixth in the race in a time of 7.24 seconds for another three points
  • Freshman Joshua Swain placed second in the 60-meter hurdle finals in a time of 9.45 seconds to garner eight points, and he had a time of 9.24 seconds in the preliminaries while freshman Liam Maguire finished third in 9.50 seconds for six points. Sophomore Jason Gartner took fifth in a time of 9.91 seconds for the Greyhounds final four points in the race
  • Sophomore Jake Farrell placed third in the mile run with a time of 4:31.99 to garner six points while freshman Bryan Kerchner took eighth in the race in 4:4129 for two points
  • Sophomore Nathan Hajel was the runner-up in the 5K with an AARTFC qualifying and PR time of 15:24.93 to earn eight points while senior Shane Houghton took third in an AARTFC qualifying and indoor PR time of 15:27.14 for six points and junior Josh Mangini placed seventh in a PR time of 15:41.72 for two points
  • Junior Paul Petre  was fifth in the 800-meter run in a PR time of 2:04.32 to pick up four points while junior Brendon Ward placed seventh in a PR time of 2:07.03 for two points and sophomore Geoffrey Kleinberg was eighth in a PR time of 2:08.57 for a point
  • The Greyhounds "A" 4x400-meter relay squad of Gray, Santos, Swain and Maguire took seventh in a time of 3:46.28 but earned four points as only each school's "A" team scored in the race. The Hounds' "C" squad of Farrell, Kleinberg, Ward and freshman Joe Allegro placed fourth in a time of 3:44.11 but did not score
