TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University graduate student Tim King has been named as the Landmark Conference Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for his performance last week.

King set a Landmark Conference and Moravian record in the 35-pound weight throw at the Franklin & Marshall College Mini-Dip Invitational last Friday with an All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying distance of 16.41 meters (53-10.25) to finish second in the event. King posted the mark on both his second and third attempts of the competition, and he passed the previous school record by six and three-quarter inches and threw a new personal best by two feet, seven inches. King also took fourth in the shot put with a distance of 13.84 meters (45-5) on his first throw of the meet, just missing the AARTFC qualifying distance by one centimeter.

"Tim has had the potential to break the weight throw record for a while now and after making a small adjustment in practice this past week he was finally able to put the throw together that surpassed the record," commented Throwing Coach Jon D'Ottavio. "He was so excited and to see the way his teammates embraced him after the throw just shows how much Tim means to our program and that his hard work has paid off after all of these years. We're excited to see where the rest of the season takes him and hopefully some more moments like the one on Friday."

The Hounds are scheduled to compete at the Frank Colden Invitational at Ursinus College on Saturday, February 4 and the Dick DeSchriver Invitational at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania on Sunday, February 5.
