BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's track & field squad is third of seven schools with 38 points after the opening day of the 2023 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships being hosted by the Greyhounds at Timothy Breidegam Track.
Event Winners
- Sophomore Nathan Hajel captured first place in the 10,000-meter run with a winning time of 33:57.88 to earn 10 points
Top 8 Scorers
- Graduate student Tim King was the runner-up in the discus with an All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying toss of 41.33 meters (137-5) to score eight points. Senior Adam Gildea placed fourth at 40.37 meters (132-5) for five points while junior Jeremy Goll picked up three points for sixth-place finish at a distance of 35.17 meters (115-4)
- Gildea also finished eighth in the javelin with a toss of 43.05 meters (141-3) to earn Moravian's first point of the meet
- Senior Shane Houghton earned the first points on the track with four points for a fifth place finish in the 1,500-meter run in 4:03.70 while freshman Bryan Kerchner was eighth in 4:04.54 to score a point
- Sophomore Josh Mangini finished fourth in the 10,000-meter run in 35:16.20 to score five points
- Sophomore Trey Rolle took eighth in the long jump with a leap of 6.32 meters (20-9) to garner a point
Preliminary Events
- Sophomore Trevor Gray had the second fastest time with an AARTFC qualifying time of 10.89 seconds while junior Jared Santos moved on the finals with the fifth-best and AARTFC qualifying time of 11.03 seconds
- Gray and Santos also qualified for the 100-meter dash finals with Gray running the third fastest time of 22.45 seconds while Santos was sixth in 22.66 seconds
- Freshman Josh Swain qualified for the finals of the 110-meter high hurdles with the seventh best qualifying time of 16.11 seconds
