King Sets School Record in Weight Throw at Mini-Dip Invitational

LANCASTER, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's track & field squad hit a pair of All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying marks and broke one school record at the Franklin & Marshall College Mini-Dip Invitational Friday.

Top 10 Finishes

  • Graduate student Tim King set the school record in the 35-pound weight throw with an AARTFC qualifying toss of 16.41 meters (53-10.25) to place second in the event. He hit the mark twice on his second and third attempts of the afternoon
  • King also placed fourth in the shot put with a distance of 13.84 meters (45-5) on his first throw of the meet, just missing the AARTFC qualifying distance by one centimeter
  • Sophomore Trevor Gray took seconds in the 60-meter dash finals in an AARTFC qualifying time of 7.00 seconds after the same time in qualifying
  • Senior Shane Houghton was the runner-up in the mile run in a time of 4:26.69 while sophomore Jake Farrell was third in 4:28.88, junior Casey Frank took fourth at 4:34.53, sophomore Nathan Hajel finished sixth in a time of 4:36.82 and senior Liam Duffy placed ninth in 4:39.71
  • Freshman Kevin Hess placed fourth in the 400-meter dash in 53.98 seconds while junior Jared Santos finished fifth in 54.09 seconds and junior Matt Shea was seventh in 54.43 seconds
  • Sophomore Owen Sabastro took fourth in the 200-meter dash in 24.02 seconds
  • Freshman Josh Swain was ninth in the preliminaries with a time of 9.23 seconds
