Six Hounds Earn 2023 USTFCCCA Outdoor All-Metro Region Honors

NEW ORLEANS, La. --- The Moravian University men's track & field team has had six student-athletes named as United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Region.

For a student-athlete to earn All-Region honors, an athlete must be ranked in the top-5 of an individual event in the region according to the final Track & Field Results Reporting System data or be part of a top-3 relay team. The program must also be a member of the USTFCCCA. Moravian is part of the Metro Region.

The Greyhound men had two individual honorees with senior Shane Houghton in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and sophomore Trey Rolle in the high jump. Moravian's 4x100-meter relay squad of junior Jared Santos, sophomore Trevor Gray and Owen Sabastro and freshman Jacob Fenstermaker also earned All-Region accolades. Houghton was third in the region in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:35.58 at the at the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference Championships on May 17 while Rolle was also third in the region at a height of 1.98 meters (6-6) from the Lehigh Games on April 7. The relay squad had the second-best time in the region of 41.39 seconds, which they ran at the AARTFC Championships on May 17.
