Greyhounds Place Third in 2023 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's track & field team placed third of seven schools in the 2023 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships hosted by the Greyhounds this weekend at Timothy Breidegam Track. The Hounds scored 130 points, finishing 7.5 behind The Catholic University of America while Susquehanna University won the title with 264 points. 

Event Winners

  • Junior Dan McNicholas won the hammer throw with a toss of 47.12 meters (154-7) to score 10 points
  • Graduate student Tim King captured first in the shot put with an All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference qualifying distance of 14.61 meters (47-11.25) to garner 10 points 

Top 8 Scorers

  • Sophomore Trevor Gray was the runner-up in the 100-meter dash final in an AARTFC qualifying time of 10.78 seconds to score eight points while junior Jared Santos took fourth in an AARTFC qualifying mark of 10.94 seconds for five points
  • Senior Shane Houghton placed second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in an AARTFC qualifying time of 9:37.61 to earn eight points while senior Liam Duffy scored three points for a sixth-place finish in 10:25.03. Sophomore Jake Farrell garnered two points for seventh at10:29.65 while senior Christian Jancsarics scored a point after finishing eighth in 10:30.83
  • Sophomore Nathan Hajel took second in the 5,000-meter run with an AARTFC qualifying time of 15:19.15
  • King took third with a toss of 46.39 meters (152-2) to pick up six points while junior Derek Mason placed seventh at 39.40 meters (129-3) for two points
  • Moravian's 4x400-meter relay squad of Gray, juniors Matt Shea and Paul Petre and sophomore Geoffrey Kleinberg took third in a time of 3:25.78 to score six points
  • Gray finished fourth in the 200-meter dash final in an AARTFC qualifying time of 22.33 seconds to score five points while Santos took sixth in 22.65 seconds to garner three points
  • Freshman Josh Swain was fifth in the 110-meter high hurdles final in a time of 15.84 to score four points
  • Shea placed fifth in the 400-meter dash in a time of 50.69 seconds for four points
  • Junior Jeremy Goll finished sixth in the shot put with a mark of 12.78 meters (41-11.25) to earn three points
  • Junior Casey Frank took seventh in the 800-meter run in a time of 1:57.26 to score two points while Kleinberg was eighth in 1:57.45 for one point
  • Sophomore Jason Gartner placed eighth in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 59.47 seconds to garner one point
