Greyhounds Set One School Record & Sit in 10th after First Day of 2023 AARTFC Outdoor Championships

SELINSGROVE, Pa. --- The Moravian University men's track & field team is tenth of 31 schools scoring points after the opening day of the 2023 All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference Outdoor Championships at Susquehanna University Wednesday. The Hounds have scored 14 points through the first nine events of the meet.

Moravian Finishers

  • The Greyhounds 4x100-meter relay squad of Jared Santos, sophomores Trevor Gray and Owen Sabastro and freshman Jacob Fenstermaker placed third in the 4x100-meter relay with a school record and Landmark Conference record time of 41.39 seconds, the second time in 48 hours that the quartet had set the school record in the race. The third-place finish earned Moravian six points in the team standings
  • Sophomore Nathan Hajel scored eight points with a runner-up finish in the 10,000-meter run in the final event of the opening day with a PR time of 31:22.11
  • Senior Shane Houghton placed tenth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:35.38
  • Gray took 19th in the 100-meter dash preliminaries with a time of 11.04 seconds while Santos was 25th in 11.11 seconds
