Maddie Capuano named Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College senior guard Maddie Capuano has been named as the Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.

Capuano helped the Greyhounds begin the 2019-20 season with a 73-58 win at Dickinson College last Friday evening as she tossed in a game-high 24 points to go with six rebounds and two steals. Capuano was 8-for-20 from the floor, 2-for-6 beyond the three-point line and 6-for-8 at the foul line in the contest, and the 24 points improved her career total to 1,271 points and moved her to tenth all-time in program history.

"Maddie helped the team have a great start to the season with the win at Dickinson College," commented Head Coach Mary Beth Spirk. "Maddie picked up where she left off last year. She has done the work in the off season to prepare herself for a big senior year. With a great start to the season, the coaching staff and her teammates are hoping Maddie continues to lead on the court with her stellar play and off the court with her leadership."

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, November 16 when the squad takes on Maine Maritime Academy in the opening round of the 27th Annual Smith (Mass.) College Tyler Tip-Off Tournament with tip-off set for 4:00 p.m.
