2020 Moravian College Women's Basketball seniors Maddie Capuano, Karlie Brogan, Nadine Ewald and Brooke Santy.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- With the final semester of their college experience moved remotely by COVID-19, the Moravian College Department of Athletics & Recreation today honors the four senior members of the Greyhounds' women's basketball team that missed out on their traditional career-ending senior experiences.

The quartet helped the Greyhounds to a 68-38 record over the last four seasons, including four appearances in the Landmark Conference Semifinals and a trip to the ECAC Division III Tournament in 2016-17 where the squad reached the Quarterfinals.

Guard Karlie Brogan played in 106 games, and she had 897 points, 620 rebounds, which ranks 14th in school history, 184 assists, 180 steals, 83 three-pointers and 55 blocked shots. Karlie was a three-time member of the Landmark Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll, and she was named to the 2019 and 2020 Landmark Conference Winter All-Sportsmanship Team and the 2019 Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Team of the Year. Karlie is a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society, and she made Moravian's Dean's List six times. Karlie is the daughter of Regina and Frank Brogan, and she is majoring in health sciences at Moravian.

"Karlie knows no other path than one of success, on the court and in the classroom," commented Head Coach Mary Beth Spirk. "She is a leader in both disciplines. A four-year starter and two-time captain, Karlie was and is one of the hardest workers, greatest teammate and exemplary leader on and off the court. Karlie achieved success from day one and will continue to achieve success moving forward, as she pursues a Master's in Occupational Therapy."

Guard Maddie Capuano scored 1,772 points, which is third in school history, in 105 games to go with 404 rebounds, 280 assists, which is eighth all-time, 223 three-pointers, which is the school record, 152 steals and 11 blocked shots. Maddie was named to the Landmark Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll three times and was selected to the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Academic All-District Team selected by CoSIDA in 2020. She was honored on the Landmark All-Conference First Team and the D3hoops.com All-Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team in both 2019 and 2020, the Landmark All-Conference First Team in 2018 and the Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year in 2017. Maddie is a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society, and she made Moravian's Dean's List five times. Maddie is the daughter of Michelle and Leonard Capuano, and she is majoring in health sciences at Moravian.

"A four-year starter and two-time captain, Maddie's success on the basketball court has been well documented," noted Spirk. "A quiet leader, she had her play do the talking for her. Maddie was consistent for four years, Rookie of the Year as a freshman in the conference and three-time First Team All-Conference player the past three years. An occupational therapy major, she will be steering towards the nursing field moving forward."

Forward Nadine Ewald scored 1,266 points, which is 11th in school history, in 102 games at Moravian. She also had 911 rebounds, which is third all-time, 176 assists, 113 steals and 107 blocked shots, which is seventh in program history. Nadine was named to the Landmark Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll three times, and she was selected to the 2020 and 2019 Landmark All-Conference Second Team. Nadine was honored on the Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Team of the Year this season, and she made Moravian's Dean's List three times. Nadine is the daughter of Claudia and Steve Ewald, and she is majoring in psychology with a minor in early childhood education at Moravian.

"Nadine has had a stellar four years at Moravian," Spirk stated. "She saved the best for her senior year without a doubt. Nadine has etched her name all over the record books and she leaves as one of the best to wear a uniform at Moravian. Nadine's growth as a player on and off the court has been tremendous over her four years. She was President of SAAC and a leader of all our student athletes over the course of her years here. A four-year starter and two-year captain, Nadine will be difficult to replace. She will certainly be successful in her future endeavors."

Guard Brooke Santy scored 68 points in 70 games at Moravian. She also had 53 rebounds, 49 assists and 16 steals. Brooke was selected to the Landmark Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll three times, and she was on the 2020 Lehigh Valley Small College Basketball Scholar-Athlete Team. Brooke is a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society, and she made Moravian's Dean's List seven times. Brooke is the daughter of Yvonne and Carl Santy, and she is majoring in English with an early childhood education certification at Moravian.

"A four-year player who is a role model for every student athlete at the Division III level. She was a team player, easy to coach, willing to learn and volunteered for any and all community service activities. Brooke understands that to be successful, you have to put in work and effort while also enjoying yourself. She will be an accomplished teacher as she moves forward after graduation."

Graphics on all four seniors will be posted throughout the day on Moravian's social media accounts.
