Nadine Ewald honored as Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College senior forward Nadine Ewald has been honored as the Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.

Ewald averaged 21-5 points and 13.5 rebounds per game in a 2-0 week for the Greyhounds in non-conference action. Ewald was 19-for-30 from the floor (63.3 percent) and 5-for-10 at the foul line during the week, and she also had four assists, two steals and a pair of blocked shots. Ewald had 16 points and 13 rebounds in a 68-54 win versus TCNJ. She then had 27 points and 13 boards for her fourth straight and 26th career double-double in a 97-83 victory at Gwynedd Mercy to go along with three assists and a pair of steals.

"Nadine put together two solid games this past week," commented Head Coach Mary Beth Spirk. "Her scoring and rebounding were tremendous, but more than that her help defense, communication and leadership on and off the court has been strong. Nadine has started her senior year well and we hope she continues her stellar play as we progress through the season. Congratulations to Nadine for a terrific accomplishment."

Moravian is slated to return to action on Tuesday, November 26 in a non-conference game at No. 13 DeSales University beginning at 6:00 p.m. in Center Valley. The game will be televised by TV-2 Sports and will be the first opportunity for Spirk to become the eighth active and 19th overall NCAA Division III coach to reach 600 career victories.
