Jaindl's Runner-Up Finish Leads Men at Moravian Indoor Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's track & field squad hosted the non-scoring, 22-team Moravian College Indoor Invitational at Lehigh University's Rauch Fieldhouse Saturday.

Junior Greg Jaindl had the Greyhounds' top finish as he the runner up in the mile with a personal best time of 4:20.28, the third fastest time in school history, while senior Devon Harris took seventh in the race in 4:26.66. Sophomore Peter Gingrich took fifth in the 800-meter run in 2:01.27 while freshman Dominic DeRafelo placed fifth in the 3,000-meter run in a time of 9:09.48. The Greyhounds 4x400-meter relay squad of senior John Spirk, junior Evan Lutz, sophomore Sean McFarland and freshman Taylor Porter McPherson finished seventh in a time of 3:34.53.

Sophomore Shane Mastro placed eighth in the shot put with a distance of 14.04 meters (46-0.75) while junior Ryan Harper took tenth with a mark of 13.72 meters (45-0.25). Senior Jon Anthony finished fourth in the weight throw with a toss of 15.45 meters (50-8.25) while Harper was one spot back in fifth at a distance of 15.24 meters (50-0). Freshman Max Schuman tied for seventh in the pole vault at a height of 4.10 meters (13-5.25).

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action at the Susquehanna University Challenge on Saturday, February 2 in Selinsgrove.
