Jaindl Sets School Record to Win 1,500 Meters in 10th Annual Coach P Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's track team squad the 10th Annual Coach Pollard Invitational at Timothy Breidegam Track and Rocco Calvo Field Friday and Saturday.

Junior Greg Jaindl won the 1,500-meter run with a meet and school record time of 3:53.54 to lead the men's squad while senior John Spirk was fourth in the 110-meter high hurdles in 14.86 seconds after winning his preliminary heat in 14.88 seconds, and he also took sixth in the 400-meter hurdles in 55.54 seconds.

Spirk also ran the leadoff leg of Moravian's 4x400-meter relay team with sophomore Sean McFarland, junior Evan Lutz and freshman Taylor Porter McPherson that placed eighth in 3:26.14. Freshman Shane Houghton finished fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:18.16.

Freshman Max Schuman was eighth in the pole vault at an outdoor PR of 4.11 meters (13-5.75) while senior Jon Anthony took eighth in the discus with a toss of 42.90 meters (140-9).

Friday evening, junior Gavin Kemery finished as the runner-up in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 33:20.39, and he was followed by freshman Michael Lerch in third at 33:24.43, senior Benjamin Smith in fifth with a time of 33:42.44 and junior Alex Tursi in seventh at 34:57.82. Sophomore Shane Mastro finished ninth in the shot put with a toss of 13.62 meters (44-8.25) on Friday as well while junior Ryan Harper was ninth in the hammer throw with a mark of 47.97 meters (157-4).

 The Greyhounds are slated to host the annual Greyhound Invitational on Friday and Saturday, April 19-20 at Timothy Breidegam Track and Rocco Calvo Field with Friday's action beginning at 3:00 p.m.
