Ryan Harper Named Landmark Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week.

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College junior thrower Ryan Harper has been named the Landmark Conference Men's Field of the Week for his performance last week.

Harper, who earned his second Landmark Conference honor of the season, placed sixth in the hammer throw at the non-scoring Carol & John Covert Classic hosted by Lehigh University with a personal best toss of 48.79 meters (160-1). Harper also finished seventh in the shot put with another PR toss of 14.15 meters (46-5.25), and he was 16th in the discus with a third PR of the day at a distance of 37.07 meters (121-7).

"Ryan had an incredible weekend setting lifetime PRs in all three of the throws," stated Director of Corss Country and Track & Field Jesse Baumann. "Truth be told, discus isn't his strongest event, but he still had a nice throw in that event, and then his hammer and shot were both really strong improvements for him that included some other really good throws in his series. Coach D'Ottavio and Ryan are both still aiming for a 50-meter throw before the end of the season in the hammer and he's showing in some practice and fouled throws that he has that potential to still do that either at Landmarks or the last week of the season. He's peaking at the right time and ready to have a big weekend."

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action at the 2019 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships being hosted by Goucher College on Saturday and Sunday, May 4-5 as the squad looks to win its fifth straight and 11th overall Landmark Conference title.
