Greg Jaindl Named Landmark Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week.

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College junior Greg Jaindl has been named the Landmark Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week for his performance last week.

Jaindl, who earned his fourth Landmark Conference honor of the season and first outdoors, set the Moravian, Landmark Conference and Coach P Invitational meet record in the 1,500-meter run Saturday with a winning time of 3:53.54, currently the 12th fastest time in the nation this season. Jaindl also ran the anchor leg of Moravian's B 4x400 meter relay squad that finished 13th in 3:30.02.

"When Greg broke 4:00 at Lafayette in the wind, leading the whole way by himself we both figured he had something like this in him if he could just get the right conditions," stated Director of Cross County and Track & Field Jesse Baumann. "Fortunately, one of Muhlenberg's former athletes helped set the pace for about three laps, and Corey Mullins of Muhlenberg is a very talented runner who helped give some of the competition Greg needed over the last 400 meters to give him the push he needed to set the school record and put himself in contention to have a shot at that event at NCAAs as well as the steeplechase. Greg has put in the work, and it's great to see all of his efforts continue to pay off with some big results."

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Friday and Saturday, April 19-20 when the squad hosts the annual Greyhound Invitational at Timothy Breidegam Track and Rocco Calvo Field.
