Women Hit 5 ECAC Marks; Glass & Brockett Win Events at Crusader Challenge

SELINSGROVE, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's indoor track & field teams competed at the non-scoring Susquehanna University Crusader Challenge on Saturday and hit five ECAC qualifying marks and had a pair of individual event winners.

Senior Corinne Glass capturing the 200-meter dash with an ECAC qualifying time of 26.47 seconds while junior Meg Brockett won the 3,000-meter run in an ECAC qualifying and Landmark Conference record time of 10:15.31, a personal best and the third fastest time in school history. Junior Jackie Finnegan added an ECAC qualifying mark of 14.41 meters (47-3.5) as she placed fourth in the 20-pound weight throw while sophomore Melissa Cheong was fifth in the long jump with an ECAC qualifying distance of 5.41 meters (17-9). Cheong also ran an ECAC qualifying time of 9.40 seconds in the 60-meter hurdle preliminaries before she finished sixth in the finals in 9.47 seconds.

Glass was the runner-up in the 400-meter dash in 1:00.58, and she also placed tenth in the 60-meter dash in 8.24 seconds. Junior Sarah Hughes finished fourth in the mile run in 5:24.26 while freshman Amari Schooler was tenth in the 60-meter hurdle preliminaries in 9.79 seconds.

In other field results for the women, sophomore Beth Ann Davies finished fourth in the pole vault with a height of 2.90 meters (9-6.25) while graduate student Chelsea Swick was seventh at 2.75 meters (9-0.25). Senior Christelle Reglas was ninth in the long jump at 4.90 meters (16-1) while junior Kiara Bright tied for seventh in the triple jump at 10.37 meters (34-0.25) and sophomore Carly Thorpe was tenth in the event at 9.85 meters (32-3.75).

The Greyhounds' 4x200-meter relay squad of Reglas, junior Lauren White and freshmen Maike Krischer and Tamara Suchan placed second in 1:51.93. Krischer and Suchan also ran on the 4x400-meter relay squad with sophomore Casie Cronk and freshman Anna Osman as the quartet finished sixth in a time of 4:18.70.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, February 13 when Moravian will compete in the Monmouth University Invitational.
