KUTZTOWN, Pa. --- Moravian College sophomore Melissa Cheong and junior Rebecca Flitcroft both competed in the indoor pentathlon Wednesday at the Kutztown University Mid-Week Multi.

Cheong finished second with 2,776 points while Flitcroft was fifth with a career-best of 2,630 points in the five-event competition.

Cheong opened with a 55-meter hurdle time of 8.96 seconds for 781 points, and she added another 736 points for a height of 1.60 meters (5-3) in the high jump. Cheong then had a toss of 7.09 meters (23-3.25) in the shot put for 341 points and a long jump of 5.16 meters (16-11.25) for 603 points before finishing the evening with a time of 3:05.58 in the 800-meter run for 315 points.

Flitcroft ran 9.20 seconds in the hurdles to start with 731 points. She then had a high jump of 1.27 meters (4-2) for 379 points, a shot put of 9.63 meters (31-7.25) for 505 points and a long jump of 4.36 meters (14-3.75) for 393 points. Flitcroft finished the night with the best time in the 800-meter run of 2:35.18 to garner 622 points.

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, February 13 when they will compete at the Monmouth University Invitational.
