Glass Wins Pair of Events at Lafayette 7-Way Meet

EASTON, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's track & field team opened its 2016 outdoor season at the Lafayette College 7-Way Meet on Saturday with a fourth place finish.

Individually, senior Corinne Glass won a pair of events as she captured the 200-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 25.22 seconds and the 400-meter dash with an ECAC qualifying time of 58.77 seconds. Sophomore Mary Kate Duncan also had a first place finish for the Hounds as she won the javelin with an ECAC qualifying toss of 40.98 meters (134-5).

Glass joined with senior Meghan Newman, junior Lauren White and freshman Amari Schooler to place third in the 4x100-meter relay in an ECAC qualifying time of 49.71 seconds. Schooler also finished third in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.87 seconds while Newman was eighth in the race in 16.66 seconds.

In other field results for the Greyhounds, graduate student Chelsea Swick was fourth in the pole vault at 3.10 meters (10-2) while sophomore Beth Ann Davies was fifth at the same height. Sophomore Trista Cunningham finished fifth in the discus with a toss of 33.82 meters (110-11) while freshman Sarah DeFranco was seventh in the long jump at 9.81m (32-2.25).

The Hounds are slated to return to action on Friday and Saturday, April 1-2 at the Muhlenberg College Invitational.
