Brockett and Glass Lead Hounds at Greyhound Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's track and field teams competed in the 2016 Greyhound Invitational hosted at the Timothy Breidegam Track on the campus of Moravian College Friday night and Saturday during the day.

Leading the Hound finishers was junior Meg Brockett, who took home a victory in the 5,000-meter run posting an ECAC qualifying time of 17:58.91. Also running well for the Greyhounds was senior Corinne Glass, who took a second place finish in the 200-meter dash with a school record breaking time of 24.81 qualifying her for the ECAC track meet as well as move her to third on the Track & Field Results Reporting System as the top 22 women in each event heading to the NCAA Championships in late May. Glass also finished fourth in the 100-meter dash posting a time of 12.26, which qualifies her for the ECAC meet and puts her at 15th on the TFRRS list.

In the 400 meter hurdles, freshman Anna Osman crossed the line with an ECAC qualifying time of 1:05.86 placing her ninth in the event Saturday afternoon while the 4x400-meter relay team of Osman, freshmen Maike Krischer and Tamara Suchan and sophomore Monica Richardson placed seventh with a 4:02.66, which also qualifies them to run in the ECAC Championships.

In the field events, the Blue and Grey were led by sophomore Mary Kate Duncan, who placed first in the javelin with a 44.93 meter (147-4) throw that qualifies her for ECACs and places her fifth on the TFRRS list. Also competing well was junior Jackie Finnegan, who took sixth in the weight throw with an ECAC qualifying toss of 44.73 meters (146-9). In the pole vault sophomore Beth Ann Davies cleared 3.35 meters (10-11.75) vaulting her into the ECAC meet while sophomore Melissa Cheong jumped 5.31 meters (17-5.25) in the long jump for seventh place and qualifying her for ECACs.

Next up for the Greyhounds, Moravian will split the squad up to compete at either the East Stroudsburg University Invitational or the Ursinus College Invitational on Saturday, April 23.
