Cronk Named Landmark Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College sophomore jumper Casie Cronk has been named the Landmark Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week for her performance last weekend.

Cronk won the high jump at the Kutztown University Last Chance Qualifier with an ECAC Division III qualifying height of 1.59 meters (5-2.5). The mark ranks as the eighth best in school history.

"Casie actually jumped slightly higher last week, but Kutztown's surface can be a little slick so it adds some challenges when jumping," commented Head Coach Jessie Baumann. "Despite that she still essentially repeated her mark from a week ago and each of the last two weeks have been big improvements from where she was last season. In other sports you hear about a second year, or sophomore bump. That's certainly the case with Casie, and we're happy to see her jumping as well as she is right now."

Moravian looks to win its ninth straight Landmark Conference title when the squad heads to the 2016 Landmark Conference Championship meet hosted by Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove on Saturday, February 27.
