Greyhounds Top Keystone, 4-1, Behind Grotyohann

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Junior midfielder Chelsea Grotyohann netted two goals and added an assist to lead the Moravian College field hockey team to a 4-1 win over Keystone College in a non-conference match at Lehigh University's Ulrich Turf Field Friday afternoon.

The match, originally scheduled for Wednesday at Moravian's Betty Prince Field, was delayed twice and eventually moved to Lehigh's Ulrich Turf Field due to the condition of the natural grass surface at Betty Prince Field after the heavy rain earlier this week.

The Greyhounds, now 1-1 on the season, would take a 1-0 lead in the 15th minute when senior forward Tori Poliskiewicz took a lead pass from Grotyohann, dribbled into the circle and drilled a shot to the left side of the net for her first goal of the season.  Moravian extended its lead to 2-0 in the 28th minute on a penalty corner.  Grotoyhann started the corner with a pass out to the top of the circle to sophomore midfielder Catherine DuffinDuffin blasted the pass back towards the goal and Grotyohann tapped it in for her first goal of the year.

Just over ten minutes into the second half, the Greyhounds pushed the lead to 3-0 when Grotyohann tapped in another loose ball on a penalty corner for her second goal of the match as junior midfielder Kerian Badessa redirected a blast from Duffin.  Moravian extended the lead to 4-0 in the 51st minute as freshman forward Kelly O'Donnell tapped in a pass from sophomore forward Taylor Holly.

The Giants would get on the scoreboard in the final minute junior midfielder Christiana Nevers put a loose ball in the net for her first goal of the season.

Greyhounds' senior goalie Catherine Gottlieb made four saves in the match to earn her first win of the season.  Keystone freshmen goalies Nichole Blank and Amy Denmon each played a half and posted three saves apiece in the match.  Moravian finished the match with a 19-10 edge in shots and an 8-4 edge in penalty corners.

Moravian will return to action on Saturday, September 8th in a non-conference match versus Immaculata University.  That match has also been moved to Lehigh's Ulrich Turf Field and the start time has been pushed back to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
