Duffin, Gottlieb & Pezzello Earn Landmark All-Conference Honors

TOWSON, Md. --- Seniors goalie Catherine Gottlieb (Blackwood, N.J./Paul VI HS) and defender Stephanie Pezzello (Holmdel, N.J./Holmdel HS) and sophomore midfielder Catherine Duffin (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown HS) of the Moravian College field hockey team have been named to the 2012 Landmark All-Conference Second Team announced Wednesday.

Gottlieb posted a 1.57 goals-against average this fall with an 8-8 record, three shutouts, 106 saves and an .815 save percentage in 1,067 minutes of action.  Gottlieb, who is also a two-time member of the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll, finishes her career ranked fourth in school history with a .779 career save percentage, and she is fifth in goals-against average at 1.88, fifth in saves with 208 and fifth in minutes played at 2,196.

Pezzello, who earns All-Conference honors for the second time in her career after making the Second Team in 2010, posted a team high and school record 13 defensive saves this season.  Pezzello finished her career with a school record 27 defensive saves. 

Duffin, who earned Landmark All-Conference Second Team honors for the second consecutive season, led the Greyhounds in scoring with 24 points this season on eight goals and eight assists, tied for the third most assists in a single season at Moravian.  Duffin has 14 goals and 11 assists in two seasons.

Moravian finished its 2012 season with an 8-9 overall mark, and the Greyhounds were 2-4 in Landmark Conference action.  Moravian had a 7-1 mark in home matches this season with the only loss coming in overtime, and the Greyhounds dropped four road matches by just a goal including one in overtime.
