Women’s Indoor 4x200-Meter Relay Team Qualifies for ECAC’s

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Moravian College women's indoor track & field team was highlighted by the 4x200 relay team of juniors Morgan Redmond, Brianna Wright, Brielle Sutter and sophomore Christelle Reglas qualifying for the 2014 ECAC Indoor Championships with a second-place finish at the Crusader Classic – hosted by Susquehanna University – on Saturday.

The group qualified for the indoor track & field postseason by posting a time of 1:49.77.

Redmond captured another podium finish on Saturday, finishing third in the 60-meter hurdles finals with a time of 9.59 seconds. Her time of 10.00 seconds in the trials advanced the junior to the final round.

Junior Claire Del Casale scored a fifth-place finish in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 11:06.08, the best result of her winter season.

Junior thrower Jenny Kratch placed seventh in the weight throw. Her toss of 13.33 meters (43' 9") was a personal record.

Wright was seventh in the 60-meter dash trials, but only the top six advance to the finals. Her time of 8.271 seconds was three-thousandths of a second away from moving on.

Freshman Casey Raymond leaped 4.70 meters (15' 5") in the long jump, good for ninth place at Susquehanna.

Freshman Kiara Bright (9th place – triple jump) and senior Amanda Smilgis (9th place – pole vault) rounded out the top 10 finisher from the Moravian women at the Crusader Classic.

The Greyhounds return to action on Friday, Feb. 14 at the Lafayette College-Rider University Winter Games at the New York City Armory in Manhattan.
