Hounds Close Indoor Season at ECAC Championships

ROXBURY CROSSING, Mass. --- The Moravian College women's indoor track & field team closed out the indoor portion of its 2013-14 season with the second day of competition at the 2014 ECAC Division III Championships at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center.

The Greyhounds had four competitors in action Saturday. Junior Brielle Sutter ran a season-best time of 59.57 in the 400-meter dash on Saturday to finish in 13th place, and she also posted a season-best time of 26.51 second in the 200-meter dash to finish 38th. Freshman Lauren Suelke was 26th in the long jump Saturday with a leap of 4.85 meters (15 feet, 11 inches).

Junior Emily Lambright placed 19th in the mile run with a time of 5:16.02, and she was 34th in the 3,000-meter run in 10:41.48. Both times set new personal records for Lambright. Senior Jennifer Smilgis was 34th in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:26.31.

Amherst College won the team championship with 38 points to lead the 62 teams that scored a point in the meet.

Moravian will begin its 2014 outdoor season on Saturday, March 22 when the team competes at the West Chester University Golden Rams Invitational.
