Suelke & Sutter Win Events at Lehigh Games

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Freshman jumper Lauren Suelke and junior Brielle Sutter led the Moravian College women's track & field team at the non-scoring 2014 Lehigh Games with a first place finishes in their events Saturday.

Suelke hit the ECAC qualifying mark with a distance of 10.90 meters (35 feet, 9.25 inches) on her second jump of the preliminaries. Suelke also placed third in the long jump at 5.15 meters (16 feet, 10.75 inches), just 1.25 inches shy of the ECAC qualifying standard.

Sutter captured first in the 400-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying time of 58.69 seconds.

Sophomore Christelle Reglas was the runner-up in the long jump with a mark of 5.17 meters (16 feet, 11.5 inches), just shy of the ECAC qualifying mark while freshman Casey Raymond was eighth at 4.88 meters (16 feet, 0.25 inches). Freshman Kiara Bright was the runner-up to Suelke in the triple jump at 10.82 meters (35 feet, six inches) while junior Giana Vecchio placed eighth at 9.79 meters (32 feet, 1.5 inches).

Junior Hailey Kester placed sixth in the pole vault at a height of 3.20 meters (10 feet, six inches) while junior Dana Fineman finished tied for ninth at 2.90 meters (nine feet, 6.25 inches).

Freshman Jackie Finnegan was sixth in the discus with a toss of 35.33 meters (115 feet, 11 inches), and she placed ninth in the shot put at 8.91 meters (29 feet, 2.75 inches).

In other track events, junior Brianna Wright was third in the 100-meter dash in 13.06 seconds, and she placed fourth in the 200-meter dash in 26.25 seconds. Junior Morgan Redmond finished sixth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.27 seconds while Reglas was eighth in the 200-meter dash in 26.93 seconds.

Moravian will be seeking its seventh consecutive Landmark Conference Outdoor Championship when the 2014 meet starts on Saturday, May 3 at The United States Merchant Marine Academy.
