Women Place 4th in 4x400 Centennial/MAC Race at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's track & field team had a pair of relay squads compete in the 120th Penn Relays hosted by the University of Pennsylvania at historic Franklin Field Thursday.

The Greyhounds' 4x400-meter squad of senior Jennifer Smilgis and juniors Corinne Glass, Morgan Redmond and Brielle Sutter placed fourth of 12 teams in the Centennial/MAC race with a time of 4:04.64. Sutter opened the run with a time of 59.80 seconds while Redmond ran the second log in 1:02.10. Smilgis posted a 1:03.71 in the third leg while Glass posted a 59.04 in the final leg.

Earlier in the day, Moravian posted a time of 49.60 seconds in the 4x100-meter relay. Junior Brianna Wright ran the leadoff leg and was followed by Sutter, Redmond and Glass running the anchor leg again.

The Hounds are scheduled to return to action at the Lehigh University Games on Friday and Saturday, April 25 & 26 in Bethlehem.
