Redmond's Runner-Up Leads Greyhounds at Muhlenberg

ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- Junior Morgan Redmond had a runner-up finish in the 400-meter hurdles and an ECAC qualifying mark in the 100-meter hurdles to lead the Moravian College women's track & field team at a cold and windy Muhlenberg College Invitational Saturday.

Redmond had a time of 1:06.65 in the 400-meter hurdles, missing the ECAC mark by 0.35 seconds; however, earlier in the day she had qualified for the ECAC Championships in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.73 seconds. Redmond also ran on Moravian's 4x400-meter relay squad with senior Jennifer Smilgis, junior Brielle Sutter and sophomore Corinne Glass as the quartet finished third in 4:12.12.

Sutter had an ECAC qualifying mark of 59.49 to finish fourth in the 400-meter dash while Glass was sixth in the race in 1:00.54. Junior Brianna Wright placed fourth in the 100-meter dash in 12.69 seconds, and she was 10th in the 200-meter dash in 26.83 seconds.

Also on the track, junior Devon Bedell placed third in the 5,000-meter run in 19:24.04 while freshman Erin Love took sixth in the race with a time of 19:45.35.

In the field events, freshman Lauren Suelke was fourth in both the long jump at 5.17 meters (16 feet, 11.5 inches) and the triple jump at 10.35 meters (33 feet, 11.5 inches). Sophomore Christelle Reglas was sixth in the long jump with a leap of 5.01 meters (16 feet, 5.25 inches) while junior Giana Vecchio was tied for seventh in the triple jump at 9.92 meters (32 feet, 6.5 inches) and freshman Kiara Bright was ninth with a mark of 9.78 inches (32 feet, one inch). Junior Dana Fineman tied for sixth in the pole vault, clearing 3.05 meters (10 feet).

Junior Jenny Kratch led the Greyhounds in the throws with a fifth place finish in the shot put after a toss of 10.65 meters (34 feet, 11.25 inches). Sophomore Karlee Corvasce finished sixth in the javelin at 31.16 meters (102 feet, three inches) while sophomore Tyler Clore was eighth at 28.99 meters (95 feet, one inch). Clore was also eighth in the hammer throw that took place on Friday over at DeSales University with a toss of 34.01 meters (111 feet, seven inches).

Moravian is slated to return to action on Friday and Saturday, April 11 and 12 when the host the Annual Coach P Open at Timothy Breidegam Track and Rocco Calvo Field. Action on Friday begins at 4:00 p.m. while the first events on Saturday are slated for 10:00 a.m.
