Men's Soccer Readys for 2019 Opener on August 30 at Penn State-Harrisburg

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's soccer team is getting ready for the 2019 season to begin on August 30 as the squad looks to challenge for its second straight berth in the postseason.

Second-year Head Coach Bob Wilkinson has 22 letterwinners from last year's 7-9-2 squad that reached the Landmark Conference Semifinals for the first time since the conference began in 2007-08. Wilkinson was honored as the Landmark Conference Co-Coach of the Year for his efforts.

Leading the group of returnees is sophomore midfielder Anthony Nagy, who was named to the Landmark All-Conference Second Team and selected as the 2018 Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year. Coach Wilkinson also welcomes the return of senior defender Akinori Mollenthiel, who is back for a fifth season after missing last fall with an injury. Mollenthiel was honored on the Landmark All-Conference First Team in both 2016 and 2017.

Moravian's first match is slated for Friday, August 30 when the squad heads to Penn State-Harrisburg for a match beginning at 12:00 p.m. making the men's soccer squad the first team to compete for the Greyhounds in 2019-20. The Hounds will make their home debut on Wednesday, September 4 when the squad hosts Centenary (N.J.) University at 4:00 p.m.
