Greyhounds Drop Landmark Conference Match at Elizabethtown

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's soccer squad dropped a 5-2 decision at Elizabethtown College in Landmark Conference action Wednesday evening.

The Greyhounds, who are 9-5-1 overall and sitting in fourth place in the Landmark Conference at 3-2, fell behind early as the Blue Jays scored in the 14th and 25th minutes, and Elizabethtown added a penalty kick goal just eight seconds before the intermission to head to the break leading 3-0.

Moravian began the second half scoring in the 61st minute when junior forward Ethan Blakely netted his third goal of the season. The Blue Jays pushed the advantage back to three goals just over five minutes later before sophomore midfielder Anthony Nagy cut it back to two goals when he tallied his team-leading ninth goal for the Greyhounds in the 69th minute. Elizabethtown added an insurance goal in the 89th minute to finish off the scoring.

Junior goalie Michael Bone recorded six saves for the Blue and Grey.

The Greyhounds are slated to return to action on Saturday, October 26 in a Landmark Conference match at No. 21 The Catholic University of America beginning at 1:00 p.m. in Washington, D.C. Moravian heads into its final two conference matches needing just one point from a tie in either match to clinch its second straight berth in the conference postseason play.
