BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's soccer squad posted its third consecutive shutout to begin 2019 with a 3-0 victory over visiting Centenary (N.J.) University on John Makuvek Field in the Greyhounds home opener Wednesday afternoon.

For the third straight contest, Hounds' sophomore midfielder Anthony Nagy opened the scoring when he drilled a crossing pass from freshman midfielder Carson Snyder into the net for his third goal of the year in the 21st minute. The match would remain 1-0 through the rest of the first half.

The Blue and Grey needed just over a minute into the second half to double its lead when sophomore forward Andrew Goodolf slipped a shot under the diving Cylcones goalie into the net for his first marker of the season off of a pass from junior forward Ethan Blakely. The Greyhounds pushed the edge to 3-0 in the 64th minute when sophomore midfielder Mike D'Angelo chipped a short crossing pass from Nagy along the goal line into the net for his first goal in a Moravian uniform.

Junior goalie Michael Bone and senior keeper Yamil Yunez combined on the clean sheet for Moravian with Bone making three saves in 72 minutes of action and Yunez making one save in the final 18 minutes of the contest.

"We are excited to win the home opener at the Mak," stated Head Coach Bob Wilkinson. "We had another strong performance by the defense lead by Aki Mollenthiel and Riley McHugh. Mike Bone and Yamil Yunez shared the shutout on Yamil's birthday. Anthony Nagy, Ethan Blakely and Andrew Goodolf all remain in good form, and congratulations to Mike D'Angelo on his first college goal. The guys know we still have a lot to work on as we get ready for Wilkes this weekend."

The Greyhounds are slated to return to action on Saturday, September 7 when the squad hosts Wilkes University in a non-conference match beginning at 1:00 p.m. on John Makuvek Field.
