Men's Soccer Heads to No. 21 Catholic University for Landmark Conference Semifinals on November 5

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's soccer team is set to head to No. 21 and top seed The Catholic University of America for the 2019 Landmark Conference Semifinals on Tuesday, November for a 7:00 p.m. start in Washington, D.C.

The fourth seeded Hounds are 11-6-1 overall and were 4-3 in Landmark Conference play under second-year Head Coach Bob Wilkinson. The 11 victories mark the first time the program has reached double digit wins in a season since a 12-win campaign in 2002. Also, Moravian is making its second straight Landmark Conference appearance after missing conference postseason for 15 years.

Sophomore midfielder Anthony Nagy leads the Hounds with 10 goals and two assists for 22 points. Junior forward Ethan Blakely has three goals and six assists while sophomore midfielder Andrew Goodolf has three goals and two assists. Freshman midfielder Dave Steinbach has netted four goals while senior defender Akinori Mollenthiel has two goals and two assists. Senior forward Kenny Fellows and sophomore midfielder Safa Turkdonmez have each contributed one goal and two assists while freshman midfielder Ryan Cole has two goals.

Sophomore midfielder Mike D'Angelo has one goal and one helper this fall for the Greyhounds while junior defender Michael Feeley, sophomore midfielder Kaiden Chinchar, freshman midfielder Kyle Dixon, senior midfielder Jon Matthews, junior forward Alex Meci and junior midfielder Jorge Aguilar all have one goal this season. Freshman midfielder Carson Snyder, sophomore defender Andrew Epsaro, junior defender Jared Wisdom and sophomore midfielder Quinn Middleton each have one assist.

Junior goalie Michael Bone has posted a pair of shutouts to go with 65 saves, a 9-5-1 record and a 1.40 goals-against average in 1,346 minutes. Bone has also combined with senior keeper Yamil Yunez for a shutout, and Yunez has six saves, a shutout and a 1-0 mark in 156 minutes while sophomore goalie Mason LeSage has 10 saves, a 1.52 goals-against average and a 1-1 record in 177 minutes.

In addition to Mollenthiel and Feeley, Moravian's defense has been helped by sophomore defender Jared Stafford, sophomore defender Chris Zamora and freshman defenders Kyle Smilon and Dan Apryasz.The Hounds have also received strong minutes from junior midfielder Riley McHugh.

Catholic enters the contest ranked No. 21 in the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Top 25 Poll with a 16-2-1 overall mark, and the squad was 7-0 in Landmark Conference action. The Cardinals defeated Moravian, 6-0, when the squads faced off on October 26 in Washington, D.C.

The winner of the Greyhounds-Cardinals match will face the winner of Tuesday's other semifinal between second seed The University of Scranton and third seed Elizabethtown College on Saturday, November 9 in the 2019 Landmark Conference Championship match at the highest seed. The winner of that contest will receive the conference's automatic berth to the 2019 NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament.
