Fineman & Stewart Hit ECAC Marks at Covert Classic

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's indoor track & field team had a pair of student-athletes hit ECAC qualifying marks Saturday as the squad competed at the non-scoring 23rd Annual Covert Classic hosted by Lehigh University at Rauch Fieldhouse.

Freshman Ciara Stewart had a career-best and ECAC qualifying throw of 11.84 meters (38-10.25) in the shot put to finish in third place while senior Dana Fineman was tied for third in the pole vault at an ECAC qualifying height of 3.40 meters (11-1.75).

Junior Corinne Glass was fourth in the 200-meter dash in 26.70 seconds while senior Brianna Wright took ninth in the race in 27.16 seconds. Glass took third in the 400-meter dash in 1:00.14, missing the ECAC qualifying time by 14 hundredths of a second while Wright was eighth in the 60-meter dash in 8.11 seconds.

Sophomore Meg Brockett finished 10th in the mile run in 5:33.41 while senior Emily Lambright was just behind at 5:37.46. Senior Morgan Redmond was 10th in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.59 seconds.

In other field events, senior Jenny Kratch took eighth in the 20-pound weight throw with a toss of 13.29 meters (43-7.25). Freshman Melissa Cheong was ninth in the long jump with a leap of 5.03 meters (16-6) while junior Christelle Reglas placed 10th in the event at 5.00 meters (16-5).

The Greyhounds will be back in action next Saturday evening, February 7 when they compete in the Ramapo College of New Jersey Indoor Select at the New York City Armory.
