Sutter Selected as Landmark Women's Track Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College senior sprinter Brielle Sutter has been selected as the Landmark Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week for a second consecutive week after her performance in the Coach P Open on Saturday at Moravian.

Sutter was third in the 200-meter dash with an ECAC qualifying time of 25.69 seconds, and she ran the second leg of the Greyhounds' 4x100-meter relay squad that took first place with an ECAC mark of 48.06 seconds, just three thousandths of a second off of the meet record time. The 4x100 team also moved to 11th in the nation on the Track & Field Results Reporting System list with the time, and the top 16 teams at the end of the season will compete at the NCAA Division III National Championships. Sutter also ran the leadoff leg of the winning 4x400-meter relay that had an ECAC qualifying time of 4:03.93.

"Brielle continues to have a great senior year," commented Head Coach Jesse Baumann. "Her 200 time was the fastest she had ever run and it's still pretty early in the season. She was one of our legs of the 4x100 relay that just posted a time that ranks 11th in the country and to cap off a great weekend, she earned her third ECAC qualifier leading off the 4x400 relay. The goal is still to get her to NCAAs along with some of her teammates, and some of these early season times are an encouraging sign that it could happen."

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Friday and Saturday, April 17 and 18 when the squad hosts the Greyhound Invitational at Timothy Breidegam Track and Rocco Calvo Field. Action is slated to start at 4:00 p.m. on Friday and 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
