Redmond Leads Hounds on 2nd Day of ECAC Championships

NEW YORK, N.Y. --- The Moravian College women's indoor track & field team tied for 26th at the 2015 ECAC Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Rutgers-Newark at the New York City Armory that concluded on Saturday.

The Greyhounds were tied with New England College at 13 points in the ECAC Championships while Buffalo State claimed the team title with 61 points.

Senior Morgan Redmond picked up the Greyhounds only point on the second day of the meet with an eighth place finish in the 60-meter hurdles finals in a time of 9.41 seconds. Redmond made the nine-runner final with a 9.29 in the preliminaries on Friday, earning the final spot by four one-thousandths of a second.

Junior Corinne Glass was 20th in the 500-meter run with a time of 1:21.14 while senior Brielle Sutter was 16th in the 200-meter dash in a career-best time of 25.99 seconds, tied for the sixth-best mark in school history.

Senior Jenny Kratch placed 23rd in the 20-pound weight throw with a toss of 14.13 meters (46-4.25) while junior Abbey Clark was 34th in the event at a distance of 13.45 meters (44-1.5). Freshman Melissa Cheong was 23rd in the long jump Saturday with a mark of 5.07 meters (16-7.75).

Moravian will find out on Sunday, March 8 if the squad will have anyone competing at the 2015 NCAA Division III National Championships in Greensboro, North Carolina next weekend.
