Wright Named Landmark Women's Track Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College senior sprinter Brianna Wright has been named the Landmark Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week for her performance last weekend.

Wright tied a career-best and tied the 10th-best time in school history with an ECAC qualifying time of 8.00 seconds at the non-scoring Susquehanna University Invitational to finish fourth in the 60-meter dash. Wright also ran the leadoff leg on the Greyhounds' 4x200-meter relay team which placed second with an ECAC qualifying time of 1:47.24.

"Brianna had a nice split, leading off our 4x200 in the high 26's and then came agonizingly close to breaking 8.0 in the 60 meters yet again," commented Head Coach Jesse Baumann. "8.0 in the 60m is a big barrier to break for obvious reasons, and she has been on the cusp of that since late last year and now a couple times this indoor season. What we're excited about, though, is that she didn't get to 8.0 until ECACs last year, so she's nearly a month ahead of where she was last year."

The Greyhounds are slated to compete in the Kutztown University Last Chance Meet on Saturday, February 21 as the final tune-up for the Landmark Conference Championships.
