Brockett Wins 5K at Greyhound Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College women's track & field teams hosted the Greyhound Invitational at Rocco Calvo Field and Timothy Breidegam Track on Friday and Saturday, April 17 and 18.

The Greyhounds had 10 ECAC marks in the meet with sophomore Meg Brockett winning the 5,000-meter run in an ECAC qualifying time of 18:01.80. Senior Emily Lambright finished as the runner-up in the 5K with an ECAC tie of 18:08.79.

Junior Corinne Glass had three ECAC qualifying times on Saturday as she took third in the 200-meter dash in 25.43 seconds, fifth in the 400-meter dash in 58.18 seconds and ninth in the 100-meter dash in 12.61 seconds. Senior Brielle Sutter was just behind Glass in the 200 dash with an ECAC qualifying time of 25.64 seconds.

Senior Morgan Redmond posted two ECAC qualifying times as she was eighth in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.62 seconds before placing sixth in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:05.72. Senior Devon Bedell was the runner-up in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in an ECAC qualifying time of 11:49.70.

In the field events, freshman Mary Kate Duncan was the runner-up in the javelin with an ECAC qualifying toss of 42.08 meters (138-1) while freshman Nicole Capuano was seventh at 35.87 meters (117-8).

Senior Dana Fineman was tied for fourth in the pole vault, clearing 3.20 meters (10-6) while sophomore Kiara Bright was fifth in the long jump at 10.77 meters (35-4) and sophomore Lauren Suelke placed seventh with a leap of 10.70 meters (35-1.25).

The Greyhounds will be splitting the squad up this week with nine student-athletes set to compete at the Penn Relays on Thursday and Friday, April 23 and 24 while the rest of the squad will participate in the Lehigh University Games on Friday and Saturday, April 24 and 25.
