Moravian to Host Summer Track & Field Camp

Moravian to Host Summer Track & Field Camp

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian College will be hosting a Track & Field Summer Camp from July 23-26, 2015 at Rocco Calvo Field and Timothy Breidegam Track for high school athletes.

The camp looks to offer a fun environment that will allow athletes the ability to expand their knowledge of the sport while being instructed by Moravian's coaching staff. There will be training sessions for all sprint and hurdle races as well as long jump, high jump, triple jump, javelin, discus and hammer throw.

A typical day will include training sessions in both the morning and the afternoon, and campers will also have a speaker each afternoon. One speaker will by Moravian's two-time NCAA Division III Women's Javelin National Champion and two-time Olympian Christina Scherwin. After winning the NCAA title in 2002 and 2003, Scherwin would go on to compete in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece and the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China for her native Denmark. The camp will conclude with a meet on July 26.
