Farrell Sets School Mark in 3K Highlighting Day 2 of ECAC Meet

NEW YORK, N.Y. --- The Moravian College men's indoor track & field team finished 13th at the 2015 ECAC Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Rutgers-Newark at the New York City Armory.

The Greyhounds earned 13 points on Saturday to finish the championship with 23 points. Amherst (Mass.) College won the team title with 42 points.

The Greyhounds picked up six points from sophomore Kahron Walker, who placed third in the high jump, clearing 2.02 meters (6-7.5), which is also the third-best mark in school history. Moravian would also get a point in the long jump with junior Gavin Bailey finishing eighth at 6.76 meters (22-2.25).

Sophomore Cory Taggert picked up four points for the Hounds with a fifth place showing in the 800-meter run in a career-best time of 1:54.09, the fifth fastest time in school history while senior Dillon Farrell earned two points after setting the school record in the 3,000-meter run with a seventh place finish in 8:38.88.

Senior Alec Duncan finished 10th in the mile run in with a time of 4:23.05 in his final career indoor race while sophomore Greg Cahill rounded out the Moravian competitors on day two, and he finished 26th in the 35-pound weight throw with a toss of 14.53 meters (47-8).

Moravian will find out on Sunday, March 8 if the squad will have anyone competing at the 2015 NCAA Division III National Championships in Greensboro, North Carolina next weekend.
