Karnopp Wins Pole Vault at ECAC Indoor Championships

NEW YORK, N.Y. --- Moravian College junior Ryan Karnopp won the pole vault on the opening day of the 2015 ECAC Division III Indoor Championships being hosted by Rutgers-Newark at the New York City Armory Friday.

Karnopp, who won the pole vault at the ECAC Indoor Championships for the second straight year, had a winning height of 4.82 meters (15-9.75), clearing the bar on his second attempt. He picked up 10 points for the victory which has the Greyhounds in a tie for eighth place among the 32 teams that scored a point on the opening day of the meet.

Moravian is tied with Delaware Valley College and Worcester Polytechnic Institute at 10 points while SUNY Brockport is in first place with 26.5 points.

In other action for the Hounds, senior Parker Munson finished in 12th place in the shot put with a toss of 14.79 meters (48-6.25) while senior Chris Ossont placed 13th in the triple jump with a leap of 13.43 meters (44-0.75).

Moravian will be back in action for the second day of the ECAC Championships at the New York City Armory beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 7.
