Men Hit 7 ECAC Marks at Greyhound Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's track & field squad hosted the Greyhound Invitational at Rocco Calvo Field and Timothy Breidegam Track on Friday and Saturday, April 17 and 18.

The Greyhounds posted seven ECAC qualifying marks in the meet led by junior Ryan Karnopp finishing in a three-way tie for second at an ECAC qualifying mark of 4.85 meters (15-11) in the pole vault, a mark that moved him to eighth in the nation on the Track & Fiel Results Reporting System list for the NCAA Division III National Championships in May. Sophomore Kahron Walker was third in the high jump at an ECAC qualifying height of 1.98 meters (6-6).

In the long jump, junior Gavin Bailey was fourth with an ECAC qualifying leap of 6.92 meters (22-8.5) while sophomore Kyle Hagerty was fifth with an ECAC mark of 6.73 meters (22-1) and senior Chris Ossont took tenth at 6.42 meters (21-0.75). Ossont was also ninth in the triple jump at 13.23 meters (43-5).

In the throws, freshman Kyle Allison was third in the javelin with an ECAC qualifying mark of 58.78 meters (192-10) while senior Parker Munson was fourth in the discus with an ECAC qualifying toss of 44.87 meters (147-2). Sophomore Greg Cahill was ninth in the discus at 40.62 meters (133-3), and he also finished tenth in the shot put on Friday evening at 13.82 meters (45-4.25).

Bailey was eighth in the 400-meter dash with an ECAC qualifying time of 49.75 seconds while sophomore Matt Barnett was tenth in the 100-meter dash in 11.22 seconds. Junior Ryan Sickler finished seventh in the 110-meter high hurdle finals in 16.11 seconds after qualifying seventh in a career-best time of 15.84 seconds.

Senior Alec Duncan was third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:40.37, missing the ECAC mark by 0.37 seconds. Freshman Austin Stetler was eighth in the 800-meter run in 1:58.42 while freshman Robert Cahill was tenth in the race in 1:58.70.

The Greyhounds will be splitting the squad up this week with nine student-athletes set to compete at the Penn Relays on Thursday and Friday, April 23 and 24 while the rest of the squad will participate in the Lehigh University Games on Friday and Saturday, April 24 and 25.
