Walker Named Landmark Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian College sophomore jumper Kahron Walker has been named the Landmark Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week for his performance last Saturday evening.

Walker jumped a career-best and ECAC qualifying mark of 2.03m (6-8) in the high jump at the Ramapo College of New Jersey Indoor Selected at the New York City Armory, finishing fourth in the event. The Greyhounds placed eighth out of the 18 teams that scored points in the meet. Walker's top height is the second-best in Moravian's top 10 all-time and moves him into a tie for 12th on the Track & Field Results Reporting System list to qualify for the NCAA Championships in March.

"Kahron has been exceptionally consistent this entire season and has had a number of good looks at bars around 2.05 meters especially at Princeton a few weeks back so although it's gratifying to finally move up to another height, it's not necessarily a surprise that he did," commented Head Coach Jesse Baumann. "The goal is to head to the NCAAs and based on the last few seasons it looks like he'll need about another inch to make that happen. With a month to go, however, that's certainly a possibility."

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, February 14 at the Susquehanna University Invitational beginning at 10:00 a.m. in Selinsgrove.
