Men Hit 3 ECAC Marks at Ramapo Indoor Select in NYC

NEW YORK, N.Y. --- The Moravian College men's indoor track & field team competed at the Ramapo College of New Jersey Indoor Select at the New York City Armory Saturday evening in a meet that went until after 10:00 p.m.

The Hounds finished eighth of the 18 teams that scored in the meet with 37 points while Texas A&M-Kingsville also won the men's meet with 109 points. The Greyhounds recorded three ECAC qualifying marks Saturday night. 

Sophomore Kahron Walker had a career-best and ECAC qualifying mark of 2.03m (6-8) in the high jump, placing fourth in the event. Walker's mark is the second-best in Moravian's top 10 all-time and also moves him into a tie for 12th on the TFRRS list to qualify for the NCAA Championships.

Senior Parker Munson finished third in the shot put with an ECAC qualifying toss of 14.90 meters (48-10.75), and freshman Jack Lippin placed sixth in the event at 13.41 meters (44-0).

Senior Jeffrey Gallagher bettered his career-best in the 35-pound weight throw by two feet, 10 inches and turned in the eighth-best mark in school history as he placed second at 15.23 meters (49-11.75).

Sophomore Cory Taggert was third in the mile run with a career-best and ECAC qualifying time of 4:23.51 senior Alec Duncan finished fourth in the 5,000-meter run in 15:51.35.

In other track results, sophomore Matt Barnett finished 11th in the 60-meter dash in 7.18 seconds while junior Gavin Bailey took 11th in the 200-meter dash in 22.87 second and 15th in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.03 seconds. Junior Tyler Dwyer was 15th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.82 seconds.

Senior Chris Ossont was fifth in the triple jump with a distance of 13.40 meters (43-11.75) while sophomore Kyle Hagerty was 17th in the long jump with a mark of 6.04 meters (19-9.75).

The Greyhounds will be back in action next Saturday, February 14 at the Susquehanna University Invitational beginning at 10:00 a.m. in Selinsgrove.
