Munson Selected as Landmark Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. --- Senior thrower Parker Munson of the Moravian College men's track and field squad earned Landmark Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week honors after hitting an ECAC qualifying mark at the 23rd Annual John Covert Classic hosted by Lehigh University last Saturday afternoon at Rauch Fieldhouse.

Munson took third place overall after a toss of 15.18 meters (49-9.75) which also placed him fifth in the Moravian College history books.

"We've known he's been capable of this for a long time," stated Head Coach Jesse Baumann. "He unofficially broke our school record and threw over 51 feet at our intra-squad meet back in November so it was only a matter of time before he translated that into a meet. Obviously we're hoping for and know more is there, but it was very gratifying to put together a good throw in competition like he did on Saturday."

The Greyhounds next meet is Saturday, February 7 at Indoor Select Meet hosted by Ramapo College of New Jersey beginning at 5:00 p.m. at the New York City Armory.
