Taggert Leads Greyhounds at Princeton Tiger Open

PRINCETON, N.J. --- The Moravian College men's indoor track & field team competed at the non-scoring Princeton University Tiger Open Saturday as they resumed action this weekend with a pair of meets.

Sophomore Cory Taggert was fourth in the 800-meter run and won his heat in a time of 1:57.68 while freshman Mike Kopach was 19th in the race at 2:01.58.

The Greyhounds' 4x400-meter relay squad of senior Travis Dorsa and juniors Gavin Bailey, John Barr and Tyler Dwyer finished ninth in 3:29.13. Dwyer also won his heat and was 14th overall in the 4000-meter dash in a time of 52.64 seconds while Dorsa took 21st in 55.46 seconds.

Senior Alec Duncan was 21st in the 3,000-meter run in a time of 9:02.60 while sophomore Austin Gardener placed 23rd in the 200-meter dash in 23.49 seconds.

In the field events, sophomore Kahron Walker was seventh in the high jump at an ECAC qualifying height of 1.99 meters (6 feet, 6.25 inches) while senior Chris Ossont was 12th in the triple jump with a distance of 12.38 meters (40 feet, 7.5 inches).

The Greyhounds are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, January 31 at the Lehigh University Covert Classic.
