Hounds Host 6th Annual Coach P Open

BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian College men's track & field team hosted the 6th Annual Coach P Open on Friday evening and Saturday at Timothy Breidegam Track and Rooco Calvo Field with over 1,500 student-athletes competing in the event named for longtime head coach Doug Pollard.

The non-scoring meet saw the men with one event winner and hit five ECAC marks. Senior Dillon Farrell won the 1,500-meter run in 4:01.34 while freshman Robert Cahill took sixth in 4:08.98. Junior Gavin Bailey had an ECAC qualifying time of 55.95 seconds in the 400-meter hurdles as he finished third in the event. Bailey would also post an ECAC qualifying mark of 6.90 meters (22-7.75) to place third in the long jump.

The Greyhounds 4x100-meter relay squad of senior Travis Dorsa, sophomores Matt Barnett and Jamil Poole and freshman Eric Morton placed seventh with an ECAC qualifying time of 43.62 seconds. Moravian's 4x400-meter relay squad of Bailey, juniors Tyler Dwyer and John Barr and freshman Esco Blaylock finished sixth in 3:28.69.

Freshman Kyle Allison was fourth in the javelin with an ECAC qualifying toss of 57.92 meters (190-0) while sophomore Michael Guarino placed tenth at 48.66 meters (159-08). Senior Parker Munson placed third in the discus with an ECAC qualifying toss of 44.41 meters (145-8), and Munson was also fourth in the shot put on Friday evening with a toss of 14.27 meters (46-10).

Freshman Jack Lippin was seventh in the shot put at 14.00 meters (45-11.25) while sophomore Greg Cahill finished ninth at 13.60 meters (44-7.5). Senior Jeffrey Gallagher was sixth in the hammer throw on Friday night at 44.84 meters (147-1).

Sophomore Kahron Walker was fourth in the long jump at 6.63 meters (21-9) while sophomore Kyle Hagerty finished eighth in the long jump at 6.46 meters (21-2.5). Senior Chris Ossont placed tenth in the triple jump at 12.94 meters (42-5.5).

Senior Alec Duncan was third in the 5,000-meter run in 15:33.81 while junior Max Korten finished third in the 10,000-meter run Friday evening in 35:39.03.

Moravian will return to action at home again next weekend as the squad hosts the Greyhound Invitational at Timothy Breidegam Track and Rocco Calvo Field. Action begins at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 18 and 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 19.
