Cunningham Selected as Landmark Conference Pitcher of the Week

Madi Cunningham pitching for Landmark Conference weekly honor

TOWSON, Md. --- Moravian University freshman pitcher Madi Cunningham has been selected as the Landmark Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for her performance last week.

Cunningham had one of the best collegiate debuts in the circle in program history for the Greyhounds. She earned a 3-2 win over Rosemont College on the first day of the PFX Spring Games in Clermont, Florida, and Cunningham registered 13 strikeouts in the seven-inning win, tying for the ninth most in a single game in school history and the most by a Greyhound making her collegiate debut. Cunningham allowed a pair of runs on four hits and a walk. At the plate, she was 1-for-2 with a run scored, and she had an assist in the field in her only fielding attempt.

"Madi performed very well for making her collegiate debut," commented Head Coach John Byrne. "We're lucky that she's contributing this early on and excited to see what she will do moving forward."

Moravian is slated to return to action on Wednesday, March 2 with a pair of games in the PFX Spring Games in Clermont, Florida as the Greyhounds play Neumann University at 10:00 a.m. and No. 11 Milwaukee School of Engineering at 12:15 p.m.
