MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. ---The Moravian College women's basketball team moved up four spots to 21st in the nation in the D3hoops.com poll released Wednesday night. The Greyhounds were ranked 25th in the last poll.
Moravian, who is off to the best start in school history at 11-0 and 2-0 in Landmark Conference action, received 109 points, 39 points higher than the last poll. Moravian is one of two teams from the Landmark Conference receiving national recognition with The Catholic University of America being ranked 20th with 117 points after not being ranked in the last poll..
The last time the Moravian program was ranked in the top 25 of the D3hoops.com poll was the final poll of the 2009-10 season when the Greyhounds were ranked 22nd. Moravian was ranked as high as eighth in the nation in 2009-10.
Moravian will return to action on Thursday, January 3rd as they take on FDU-Florham in the championship game of the 12th Annual Moravian Winter Classic. The contest is set for 5:30 p.m.
