Jordan Named Landmark Women's Player of the Week

TOWSON, Md. – Junior forward Laura Jordan (Easton, Pa./Easton HS) of the Moravian College women's basketball team has been named the Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

Jordan helped 21st ranked Moravian to a 3-1 record last week, and she was named to the All-Tournament Team at the 12th Annual Moravian Winter Classic after averaging 13.5 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. Jordan started the week with a career high 13 points and nine rebounds in a win at Centenary College.  She then had 12 points, five rebounds and four steals in a victory over Valley Forge Christian. Jordan contributed her second career double-double of a career best 20 points and 11 rebounds along with a career high six blocked shots in a four-point loss to FDU-Florham, the Greyhounds first loss of the season in the championship game of the Moravian Winter Classic. Jordan finished the week by helping Moravian remain undefeated in Landmark Conference action with nine points and ten rebounds in a victory at Goucher.

On the season, Jordan is averaging 8.9 points and 6.8 rebounds per game to go with her 27 blocked shots, 17 assists and 11 steals. Jordan also leads the Greyhounds at the foul line, shooting 79.1 percent (33-for-43).

The Greyhounds, who are 12-1 overall and 3-0 in Landmark Conference action, return to the court on Wednesday, January 9th as they travel to Drew University for a Landmark Conference contest tipping off at 7:00 p.m.
