INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- The Moravian College women's basketball team is ranked third of eight teams in the Mid-Atlantic Region in the first regional rankings of the 2013 season released Wednesday.
The Greyhounds, who are 19-3 overall and 18-3 in-region, one of the main criteria in the rankings, are third behind Messiah College and FDU-Florham. One of Moravian's three losses this season is to FDU-Florham while the Greyhounds other two losses are to Juniata College, which is ranked sixth in the Mid-Atlantic Region, and The College of New Jersey, ranked eighth in the Atlantic Region.
Behind Moravian, which has already clinched its 12th straight postseason appearance with a 10-1 Landmark Conference record, in the regional poll are Swarthmore College, Gettysburg College, Juniata, The University of Scranton and Lebanon Valley College. The Greyhounds have victories over Juniata, Scranton and The Catholic University of America, which is ranked second in the Atlantic Region.

Moravian is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, February 9th when the Greyhounds host Susquehanna University in a Landmark Conference game in Johnston Hall tipping off at 2:00 p.m. Moravian will be wearing pink uniforms for the game as part of the Kay Yow Cancer Fund's Play 4Kay. It is the sixth straight year the Greyhounds will don pink uniforms for a game, and Moravian has led NCAA Division III in fundraising for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund the last three years with a total of $12,025 in 2012.
