Alexis Wright Earns Landmark Player of the Week for 2nd Straight Week

TOWSON, Md. – Sophomore forward Alexis Wright of the Moravian College women's basketball team was named the Landmark Conference Player of the Week announced Monday. This is the fourth time Wright has earned the honor this winter, including last week.

Wright averaged 17.3 points and 12.7 rebounds over three games last week as the #22 ranked Greyhounds went 2-1. Wright added six steals, five blocks and five assists while shooting .468 (22-for-47) from the field.

Wright put up 24 points and 13 rebounds in the Greyhounds first game of the week versus The College of New Jersey, which they lost 60-53. Moravian then won both its conference games against The United States Merchant Marine Academy and Susquehanna University. Wright put up 17 points and 17 rebounds in the 69-53 victory over USMMA. She added 11 points and eight rebounds in 20 minutes of action as the Greyhound easily defeated Susquehanna 86-42.

On the season, Wright is averaging 16.9 points and 12.2 rebounds per game with 11 double-doubles to go with her 37 blocks, 36 steals and 21 assists while helping the Greyhounds to a 16-2 overall and 7-0 conference record.

Moravian returns to the court on Wednesday, January 23rd as they host Landmark foe The University of Scranton. The contest is set for 7 p.m. in Johnston Hall.
