Alexis Wright Named WBCA Division III Coaches' Honorable Mention All-America

ATLANTA, Ga. --- Sophomore forward Alexis Wright of the Moravian College women's basketball team has been named to the 2013 Women's Basketball Coaches Association Division III Coaches' All-America Team Honorable Mentions.

Wright, who is just one of five sophomores among the 40 players honored by the WBCA and there are six juniors and 29 seniors, has earned numerous honors this year after a standout sophomore season. She has been named to the Landmark All-Conference First Team, the D3hoops.com All-Mid-Atlantic Region First Team, the ECAC Division III South All-Star First Team and the Pete Nevins Lehigh Valley Small College Women's Basketball Player of the Year honors this winter.

She led the Greyhounds with averages of 16.5 points and 11.2 rebounds per game this past winter, the latter a school record. Wright completed her sophomore season with 803 career points, and she is already 15th in school history with 551 career rebounds.

Wright led Moravian with 66 blocked shots this season to increase her career total to 115 blocked shots, and she added 55 steals and 42 assists. Wright made 40.8 percent (187 of 458) field goal attempts this winter.

The Greyhounds completed the 2012-13 season with a 22-7 record. Moravian reached the postseason for the 13th straight year with a spot in the Landmark Conference Tournament, and the Greyhounds also participated in the ECAC South Tournament for the 14th time, reaching the championship game for the second consecutive season.
